Its that time of the year Spring break is in full season!
Whoo hoo! SPRING BREAK!!! ( Takes shot and smashes beer bottle on bar!)
That’s how I always imagined spring break would be if I had ever made it to some wild crazy place where the college kids go. Ahhh well, those dreams died pretty quickly when I became a mom at 20. I have to admit I have grown to be ok with avoiding the hangover that I am sure accompanies spring break during college.
What I am familiar with is Spring break and Motherhood, and I tell you what. Teachers deserve a RAISE. I know my son has this endless supply of energy and somehow teachers manage to keep a gaggle full of children calm enough to educate them!! That is surely some type of magical power.
We usually go out of town for Spring Break, but our work schedules have become a bit hectic. So I have decided to write 5 reasons why I love spring break.
- Being able to watch Aviry play, often when school is in session he darts to Netflix or Youtube and it drives me nuts! What I get to see over Spring Break is he actually loves to play with his toys and has an extremely vivid imagination.
- I enjoy the flexibility that comes along with spring break, I enjoy staying up late, and finding fun things to do, but HONEY let me tell you my son eats like a man and is a walking hurricane. With all this being said I wish that all of my days offered the same flexibility that Spring Break brings to my family.
- Not having to catch the school bus when it’s dark outside.
- Finding a new and fun place to go in the city. Although we weren’t able to go out of town this year I think its important to still find a place to have a blast at.
- The day feels longer.
Does that make me crazy? I love when the day seems longer and time moves a little slower. It’s nice to not be in a rush to have dinner on the table by 6:30.
All I know is thank the Lord for Spring Break because its been nice to slow down a bit.
What do you do to keep your little ones occupied for spring break?
Until next time you wonderful mommies out there!
